Learning the Block Editor

Several years ago WordPress rolled out the Gutenberg Block Editor. It’s a powerful, versatile tool designed to help create responsive posts and pages that will look good on any device. It is also very well documented.

Someone once told me that you can do a billion different things to an image in PhotoShop. In an environment that complex, there’s no way to learn how to do everything. But you can learn how things work, and how to get more information about specific things that interest you. Consider taking this approach with the Block Editor: plan on learning the basics of how to create, customize, and organize your blocks.

PRO TIP: Despite the fact that the editor allows you to do it, for the most part you should avoid changing things like fonts and styles on individual pages/posts. Your site is governed by its theme’s styling; to keep a professional, consistent look, stick within those defaults.
